Sugar feeds the bacteria in your mouth and produces acids that can damage your teeth and cause decay. Therefore, reduce or eliminate sugary foods from your daily diet.
Sticky and chewy foods like sugary gum and toffee tend to stick on to the teeth for longer and cause decay. These foods can stick on even after gargling your mouth. Dried fruit can also do the same even though it is healthier.
