Because sensitivity is caused by build-up of plaque, gingivitis and other gum diseases or problems all of which could be reduced or treated by flossing.   • Mouth wash:

    Use a mouth wash which is formulated with fluoride and contains no alcohol. As most mouthwashes are too acidic that can contribute to the tooth sensitivity,. Thus, choosing the right mouth wash is very crucial. You can also neutralize your mouth after the mouth wash by rinsing with water.

  • Diet:

    Check for those foods in your diet which cause tooth sensitivity. It is better to avoid those foods to reduce your problem. In such cases, you can also brush your teeth after every meal to prevent sensitivity.

  • Avoid whitening products:

    When you have teeth sensitivity then avoid the use of whitening products and toothpaste.

  • Consult your dentist:

    Ask him/her about the ways to treat tooth sensitivity caused due to teeth whitening. Most dentists recommend to use an in-office desensitizer. This comes in semi-liquid dosage form (paste) which must be directly applied on the teeth in one visit. Most of the in-office desensitizer will offer months or even some years of relief from sensitivity.
