    Consider using a battery or electric-operated toothbrush with soft-bristled as it helps to brush effectively. As had bristle toothbrush can damage the tooth enamel and can irritate the gums.

  • Use fluoride containing toothpaste:

    Fluoride is one component which effectively kills bacteria. Thus, use only fluoride containing toothpaste which helps to prevent dental problems, gum diseases and oral diseases.

  • Replace your toothbrush every 3 months:

    It is important that you replace your toothbrush once every 3 months or when the bristles are frayed. The frayed bristled-toothbrush will be unable to remove the bacteria and plaque from the gums and teeth.

  • Practice good technique:

    While brushing hold the toothbrush at an angle against the teeth and brush the teeth by moving it short back and forth. Ensure that you brush the chewing surfaces and inside of the teeth and your tongue. Avoid harsh and vigorous scrubbing as it might irritate the gums.

  • Drink plenty of water after every meal:

    Water is an important remedy to prevent oral and dental problems as it produces saliva. Saliva is a natural antiseptic which kills bacteria. So drink plenty of water as it washes away the stuck food residue from teeth and prevents bacterial growth.

  • Diet:

    Eat a well balanced and healthy diet. It is important that you include all the essential nutrients in your diet as it helps for dental health.
