One can go for oral thrush treatment at home with natural remedies. Oral thrush in infants can be common, but it is often not very serious. However, in adults, it becomes more serious as it can spread all over the body. In this article, there is a brief discussion on the oral thrush home treatment.

  • Mouthwash:

    Begin the use of magic mouthwash. You can prepare a natural mouthwash at home by adding ½ teaspoon of table salt in a cup of water and rinse your mouth. You can also use your doctor’s prescription especially for infants as it is safe for them. It helps to numb the pain in the mouth. This will also help you to eat well in order to get rid of oral thrush. You can use this for infants just before feeding, such that feeding is not painful.

  • Yogurt:

    Adults must include a fresh culture of unsweetened yogurt in their diet regularly at least until the oral thrush disappears. Because it contains the bacteria acidophilus which helps to balance the micro-flora in the mouth and the body. Infants older than 4 months can also have yogurt, but it is better to consult your child’s doctor before doing so.

  • Doctor’s prescription:

    Your doctor may prescribe you some fungilin lozenges and other anti-fungal medications. Intake these medications properly. Patients can suck on these lozenges as they will kill the fungus in the mouth which is caused oral thrush.

  • Nystan oral suspension:

    Suppose, if the lozenges don’t work then ask your doctor for other anti-fungal medications such as Nystan oral suspension which helps you to get rid of oral thrush.

These are some of the ways for oral thrush treatment at home. One can include dietary remedies (yogurt, apple cider vinegar), herbal remedies (tea tree oil, lavender oil, oregano oil and clove oil) and follow a good oral hygiene to treat the oral thrush at home.
