Home Teeth Whiteners

Tooth-DryEveryone wants a celebrity smile, and the whiter the teeth, the better you look. It is obvious that all can’t afford the expensive dental care and multiple dental visits as stains come back, making this a recurring problem. The teeth may be stained by tea, coffee, soda, smoking and medicines even after proper dental care. The food residue seeps into the cracks, pits or fissures, making it impossible to brush them out. Whitening products, systems or toothpastes help to bleach out these minor discolorations. Therefore, one can use the natural remedies as home teeth whiteners to get the pearly-white smile.

Some of the home teeth whiteners are discussed below:

  • Baking soda:

It is an old-time favorite which is used for many purposes, even for teeth whitening. Most dentists do agree that baking soda is very effective and is safe to use. One can directly use it as a tooth powder by using a damp toothbrush or neutralize it with toothpaste and use it.

  • Hydrogen peroxide:

This is one among the most popular remedies. It is cheap and is available in every kitchen. Hydrogen peroxide can cause burning sensation, but it makes the teeth clean and white. Brush your teeth with peroxide powder as normal and swish it for about one minute. Later, spit and rinse thoroughly with water. One can also use a cotton swab. Dip it in the solution, then gently rub on the teeth, back and front. One can see the results in just a couple of weeks.

Make sure that you do not swallow it and rinse your mouth thoroughly with water.

  • Strawberries:

They contain natural agents which help in teeth whitening and the seeds also work great in cleaning the teeth. But, as they contain acids and sugars, it is very important to brush with fluoride containing toothpaste immediately. You can either mash the strawberries and use as a toothpaste or directly rub it against the teeth.

  • Wood Ash:

It contains a compound called Potassium hydroxide which helps in bleaching the teeth and whitens the teeth. The hard wood ash includes tiny crystals which scrape off the plaque and its slightly harder form and cleans the teeth. But, prolonged use of hard wood can tear away the tooth enamel, so it is better to avoid the long usage. One can mix it with toothpaste or directly use to brush your teeth.

  • Homemade toothpaste:

It is a better home remedy for teeth whitening as it contains hydrogen peroxide, table salt, baking soda and small amount of toothpaste. Mix all these ingredients and brush to whiten the teeth.

These are a few natural remedies used in home teeth whiteners.
