Treatment for Teething Rashes

There are many home-made treatments for teething rashes. These are very helpful and effective in treating rashes. These can used for babies but, observe for any allergic reactions that may occur. If they show any reactions then immediately stop the use of that product and consult a child’s specialists.

During teething babies may have several problems such as diarrhea, vomiting, pain in gums and jaws, ear pains, discomfort, fussiness, teething rashes, etc,. Thus, teething rashes are also common in some babies. This occurs due to excessive saliva which dribbles around the baby’s mouth and chin, which results in red and irritable skin.

Treatments for teething rashes

However, teething rashes are different from diaper rashes thus, you need to treat them little differently. Some of the common treatments which help to cure teething rashes are mentioned below.

  1. Use smooth and soft washcloths.

    You need to use only smooth and soft washcloths to wipe your baby’ spittle. Make sure that you wipe them frequently with gentle patting and keep their skin dry. Thus as the skin stays dry there will be less chances of developing more rashes and it also helps to reduce the teething rashes.

  2. Use petroleum jelly.

    Mix petroleum jelly with a little amount of aloe vera and rub it on the teething rashes. It helps to soothe the inflammation on the rash area and also stops the rash from spreading.

  3. Offer cool teething rings.

    Give your baby a cool or freeze teething rings as it helps to chew and reduce the sensation and irritation of teething.

  4. Rub with your fingers on baby’s gums.

    You can also rub your baby’s gums with your fingers to relieve them from the irritation and thus they feel less upset due to teething rashes.

  5. Use homeopathic remedies.

    You can use homeopathic remedies for your baby. Apply kreosotum or chamomile on the rash area, they help to reduce inflammation and swelling. Kreosotum works more effectively for babies and helps to produce saliva.

  6. Often change your baby’s clothes.

    Regularly change your baby’s clothes similarly as diaper change. When your baby’s clothes get wet due to spittle then they must be changed with fresh ones. Thus, the baby’s skin remains dry and there won’t be any cause for teething rashes.

  7. Place a bib on the baby.

    Bib is clothing which is usually use to cover the baby clothes especially while eating. This helps to prevent wetting of clothes, which may cause rashes. Thus, when excessive drooling occurs it helps to cover the clothes and keeps the skin dry, avoiding rashes on the skin.

Thus, these are few tips which are easy to follow to treat teething rashes in babies. But, it is better to consult a doctor if the rashes spreads over the skin and causes inflammation and pain to your baby.
