Home Remedies for Sore Gums
Sore gums can be very painful and discomforting while speaking and chewing. Although there are medications for sore gums they can be very expensive, so one may avoid them. However, there are some effective home remedies for sore gums. They are natural, easily available in any kitchen, safe and easy to use.
Some of the simple home remedies for sore gums which are available in every kitchen are listed below:
Place ice on the gums or jaws to reduce the pain. Avoid crunching on chunks of ice, it can lead to tooth damage. Drink flavored slushy or use slushy ice, as cold from it helps to numb the pain.
Warm salt water:
One can place lukewarm water in the mouth and gargle for a few minutes, then rinse with fresh water. Repeat this process for a few times a day. It helps to ease both throat as well as gum pain.
Warm tea bags:
Place warm tea bags on the sore gums. It helps to alleviate the pain and gives relief.
Brush and floss:
Brush twice a day and floss after every meal. Make a habit of brushing and flossing before going to bed. Keep in mind to use a soft bristled brush and floss gently. It helps to remove the food particles and plaque which can cause tooth and gum problems.
It is a form of marigold, which grows in Egypt. It is a mild antiseptic and one can make it into tea and drink it. It helps to relieve sore gums, and creates blood clot as it carries anti-inflammatory agents. It was commonly used in the civil war, as it helps to stop the bleeding and heal the wound.
